IF: Stitch...and more

As I couldn´t participate in several topics of Illustration Friday, I´ve mixed all of them in a drawing: the tittle of this one could be " Blue woman with stitched wings soaring backwards over a purple horizon"...

IF: 100%...free

Me sentí absolutamente desinhibido haciendo éste...ningún objetivo, ninguna presión...solo por diversión, abriendo mi mente y probando nuevas técnicas...

I felt absolutely free making this one...no aims, no pressure...just for fun, opening my mind and testing new techniques...

My partner Laura and me constitute the illustration and graphic design studio Homographicus a few years ago.
Here are some recent samples of our work, a poster and leaflet for our good friend Paloma Catalán and her stage company Compañia Serrana de Comedias (CSC). The play is an adaptation of "Some Like it Hot" in a cabaret tone...

IF: Little Things

When we moved to the country, my wife and me bought our first tree, a little birch. We planted it and then,-even knowing it didn´t make any sense- we put our ears against the bark, trying to hear the murmur of the sap flowing inside...or perphaps the beating of a little heart.

We love doing this kind of little silly things.

S.O.B. (Save Our Blogs)

I realized there are a lot of people who, visiting a blog, don´t write any comment, even if the posts like them! Blog's death is prompted by shortage of comments to keep it alives. It´s something like to speak alone in the desert, it doesn´t make sense.
I have made this little notice in order to remind everyone who read any blog that their comments are really vital to the blog´s survival.
If you want, you can download here this image and paste it in your sidebar (I´ll be very grateful if you send me an e-mail or post a comment to let me know it).
I hope I´ll make the english version very soon.
Thanks everyone!

IF: The Zoo

Casually, my first job as professional illustrator was for the Zoo of Madrid.

Joaquín, instructor and good friend, and me spent a lot of gorgeous days walking in the Zoo. I drew some sketches and he told me some technical details, the first name of the animals and amazing storys about them: "This is Max, the drill. He´s depressed. A dumb gave a cigarette past week and he has his fingers burnt".

And, looking the deep and sad look in his eyes and looking some kind of people, I was often wondering where the wildlife was.
