IF: The Zoo

Casually, my first job as professional illustrator was for the Zoo of Madrid.

Joaquín, instructor and good friend, and me spent a lot of gorgeous days walking in the Zoo. I drew some sketches and he told me some technical details, the first name of the animals and amazing storys about them: "This is Max, the drill. He´s depressed. A dumb gave a cigarette past week and he has his fingers burnt".

And, looking the deep and sad look in his eyes and looking some kind of people, I was often wondering where the wildlife was.

Five random things

My apologies, my english is quite bad!

I´ve been tagged by Sheree -great artist!-to explain five random things about me. Here I go...
  1. We lived for a long time in the centre of a big town, Madrid, in a dark and small flat. I had to stick one´s half body out of the window and look up to know if it was sunny or cloudy...Two years ago, we moved to the country and now, every morning, I can smell, hear, see and feel just opening my door.

  2. Don´t try to talk with me early in the morning. I need to have two or three coffes and smoke two or three cigarettes before my brain starts working.

  3. When I was young, I played drums in a rock and roll band called "Spongers". Our policy was: "Don´t pay a beer if you can avoid it". We lost a lot of friends...

  4. I´m a fan of Tolkien´s books so the name of our first cat is "Frodo". As he´s very lazy and fat, it would be better call him "Sam Gamyi"...or "Gardfield".

  5. When I was a child, I was ALWAYS hurting my knees and my mother always put two crossed sticking plaster on them. She called me "the Crosses´Boy".

Here are the rules:

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.

2. Share 5 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.

3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

  2. No intentes hablar conmigo recién levantado.

IF: Scales

  • If I´m not wrong, the natural scale is made up of seven notes. The pentatonic scale, very common in rock, blues or jazz, supress two of these notes. The blues scale is exactly as the pentatonic one, but adds an special, very bluessy note, called blue note.
  • Here´s my interpretation of the topic...

IF: hats

  • I keep drawing by hand. This one was made using pencils and watercolour on a coloured priming ground. On the Moleskine, of course...
